Today while Julia and I were in our new private world that is Mr. Charrington’s attic, she put on some paint like that of the nasty prostitute proletarian that I went to almost two years ago. Makeup I think it used to be called. The difference between Julia and the old prostitute is that Julia looked way more beautiful than I expected. She went on to say how she planned on finding some high heels and a woman’s frock coat. She said, “I’m going to be a woman, not a party comrade!” I overlooked the fact that the Party had dewomanized the women among our ranks. Seeing Julia as happy as she was, I’ve come to appreciate this newfound freedom we have in our room. It’s been fun O’Brien.

The Attic
I never thought I’d be saying this, but I wish that I could remarry. After Katharine I wasn’t sure I could go through that again but after spending time with Julia, I want to be able to walk down the street with her and talk about random trivial things. I don’t want the subject of our every meeting to simply be for sex. But maybe we won’t need marriage after all. I mean, she was all for the renting of Mr. Charrington’s attic. In fact, she agreed rather readily which was surprising given her usual cautious nature. Nonetheless, I think we can simply chat and use a semi-normal life! Until tomorrow O’Brian…

Julia
She's so cunning, after our first time in the clearing; she said we could only use that hideout once more and only in a few months so that suspicion would not be aroused. I wouldn't have ever even thought of that. She has other places all over London too that we are safe from microphones and telescreens. I wonder how she stumbled upon some of these places... No worry, Julia's certainty with her directions and her attention to detail with them makes it impossible to not trust her. I really can't wait to see her again, I believe its in some kind of abandoned bell tower but I guess I'll see. Until tomorrow, O'Brien.
